Employer Assistance
Looking to create a more inclusive company team but not sure where to start? Ready, Willing & Able is a Canada-wide initiative that helps employers with inclusive hiring. Essentially, RWA becomes an extension of a business’s HR team and connects employers to the unique pool of talent that exists among people on the autism spectrum and/or with an intellectual disability. All RWA services and on the job supports are at no cost to the employer, and supports are flexible and individualized. In Newmarket, the program is offered through Kerry’s Place. York Region Police Business Crime Prevention Resources
The YRP provide a wealth of information for business owners to help you secure your business and provide a safe environment for employees and patrons. Information includes: Credit card tips for merchants, counterfeit money, robbery prevention, shoplifting prevention, internal theft and more. Access the online information HERE

Newmarket Public Library
The Newmarket Public Library provides access to local and global business information. It regularly offers/facilitates different programs and workshops aimed at businesses, and room rentals are available for events, business meetings, workshops, and seminars. Directories and databases of interest to entrepreneurs and small business include the Small Business Reference Center™ and the General Business File ASAP. The library also offers business GALE training courses, hundreds of free courses focused on professional development, technology skills, and personal enrichment. Six-week courses are taught online by instructors, and new sessions begin every month.
Startup York
Startup York Region is a grassroots movement, led by local entrepreneurs and supported by organizations committed to helping early stage businesses succeed. A chapter of Startup Canada, its mission is to bring people together to support one another as they create fantastic new businesses in York Region. Calendar of Events
Town of Newmarket Economic Development Office
Established in 2006, the Newmarket Economic Development office designs, develops, implements and monitors an economic development strategy for the Town. This strategy includes encouraging the retention and expansion of existing business, attracting new industry and employment growth, as well as developing a marketing strategy aimed at promoting the Town as a premier investment location.
VentureLAB
VentureLAB is a non-profit regional innovation centre that cultivates, supports and celebrates entrepreneurs in York Region, Simcoe County, and Muskoka District. It was launched in 2011, and to date, it has supported more than 3,000 start-ups in a variety of fields. These fields include green energy, advanced health technology, digital media, advanced materials/manufacturing, information communications technology and more. Calendar of Events & Workshops

York Region Small Business Enterprise Centre (YSBEC)
The York Small Business Enterprise Centre, (YSBEC) provides support to start-ups and companies with less than 10 employees in the northern six York Region municipalities: Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Newmarket and Whitchurch-Stouffville. It offers one-on-one consultations, business plan development, youth entrepreneurship programs, free seminars, resources and more. Calendar of Events & Workshops
NewMakeIt - Makerspace & Co-Working Space
NewMakeIt is a centre of innovation consisting of a makerspace, coworking area and interactive training and workshop facilities that provides an environment for learning, collaboration, creativity, idea development and entrepreneurship.

Canada Business Ontario
Part of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), Canada Business Ontario (CBO) helps Ontario entrepreneurs gain access to multiple levels of government business information. It provides information to help you plan for, launch, expand or exit your business.
Global Growth Fund
Administered by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Ontario’s Global Growth Fund provides Ontario businesses with the support they need to export their goods and services abroad. Funded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, the Global Growth Fund allows qualifying Ontario businesses to receive up to $250,000 in lifetime support through two programs:
