Making Awesome Happen $1000 at a Time !
Need some funding for your awesome idea? The Awesome Foundation Newmarket will give you $1000 to make a difference in Newmarket. Submit ideas that are youth focused for employment, community or education. Started in 2009, the Awesome movement tries to assist ideas that help communities by providing start up money, without complex rules. Each chapter recruits 10 community-minded business people to contribute $100 a month for a year. With these funds, the Newmarket Awesome Foundation is able to provide $1000 a month to a project that will make a positive difference in the community.

Newmarket Strengthens International Partnership with Finland
In December, Finnish Ambassador Charles Murto met with representatives from Southlake Regional Health Centre, York University, the Town of Newmarket and members of Newmarket's business community to discuss potential areas for partnership between Newmarket and Finland. The visit was a follow up to a recent delegation from Newmarket to Finland. To further strengthen relationships with Finland, Newmarket will host a delegation from Finland in 2013.
