Neil Moore
Neil Moore is currently the Community Development Manager and Automotive Manager for York Region Media Group. His experience in the newspaper industry began in 1989 with the Scarborough Mirror, taking him to the Era-Banner in 1997 where he has since held positions as features editor, sales representative, sales manager, publication manager and internet manager.
Neil has also served as an elected official. He was a councillor with the Town of Georgina (2001-2003), followed by seven years as a member of the Town’s economic development committee. As well, Neil was both a director and vice-president of the Georgina Chamber of Commerce.
Neil was recently Chair (now Vice-Chair) of the York Region Arts Council, and currently sits on two committees with the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce: the Advocacy Committee and Marketing Committee. He is proud to have been appointed to the NCOC board, and is a big believer in working with all levels of government (and related organizations) to support local businesses and drive the local economy.
Neil has been involved in other community organizations as well, sitting on boards with the Alliance for a Better Georgina and the Lake Simcoe Arts Foundation.
A member of the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), Neil has been an automotive journalist for more than a decade and is regularly featured in the Wheels section throughout the Metroland newspaper chain.
