Business Knowledge Initiative (BKI)

Business Knowledge Initiative

Business Knowledge Initiative (BKI) is a program that offers strategic timely & relevant information to our members on marketing & sales strategy, business planning, innovation, financing and more.

In 2009, with funding assistance from the Economic Action Plan of the Government of Canada, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce launched the Business Knowledge Initiative (BKI).  At the conclusion of this successful project, the Newmarket Chamber Board recognized the value of the service, and the importance of continuing the program.  As such, BKI has become a core program of the Chamber, continuing to offer strategic, timely and relevant information to our members, on topics ranging from social media for business, marketing and sales strategies, business planning, innovation, financing and more.

BKI works in partnership with the York Small Business Enterprise Centre, other Chambers of Commerce in the northern York region, and municipalities to organize the Business Innovation in Changing Times series, featuring high profile keynote speakers, panel discussions and interactive workshops.

With BKI, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce is developing a partnership with Innovation York and York University to further expand educational opportunities for our businesses.
