Business Excellence Awards Selection Process:

The Business Excellence Awards are governed by a committee of staff and member volunteers of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce representing both the business and not-for-profit sectors.

Once an organization has been nominated for an award, Chamber staff contact the nominee and forward a questionnaire to gather more information about the organization.  The completed forms will be used by the Committee to assess each nominee.  Selection Committee members operate under a signed confidentiality agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, ensuring that any and all information provided by nominees to the Selection Committee is held in strict confidence. 

The completed questionnaires are forwarded to the Selection Committee for review and assessment.  Each submission is carefully evaluated against the published award criteria using a weighted judging grid, and the top three finalists for each award are selected.  The Selection Committee undertakes an interview process with each finalist, to gather additional information that will be used to make the final determinimation of the Award Winner.  The Award Winners are announced at the Business Excellence Awards event on October 20, 2010.

The Chamber will arrange for a high quality promotional video to be produced for each finalist, which will be shown on the night of the Business Excellence Awards.  Each finalist will also have their video posted on YouTube and the link provided to them for marketing purposes.
