Rick Henry is President and founder of Microcel Technical Services. He holds an Electronics Technologist Certificate from Seneca College, and his career in the wireless industry spans more than 20 years. Rick started out in the two-way radio and mobile phone business. He was part of the original Cantel team, and was the National Product Manager at Nokia, Canada. He founded Microcel in 1989.
Microcel specializes in carrier and retailer wireless accessory programs. They recently expanded their logistic services, including several non-wireless products. Microcel has also developed, designed and implemented several custom e-commerce platforms. They continually look for ways to improve their systems and processes, and have invested heavily in technology.
A solutions-oriented company committed to exceeding customer expectations, Microcel has received several awards for excellence in customer service. They received the 2001 Newmarket Chamber of Commerce Extraordinary Business Achievement Award, and the 2006 Bell Technology Award.
Rick is active and energetic. He enjoys many sports, including snowmobiling, scuba diving and other water sports. Rick is committed to the community and is a regular participant in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. His background and skill set, combined with his energy and enthusiasm, make him a welcome addition to the position of 2nd Vice Chair of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce.
