Wayne Brakeboer

Wayne Brakeboer is the Manager of the Yonge and Dawson Manor branch of RBC Royal Bank here in Newmarket.  Wayne has worked for Royal Bank for 25 years in a number of communities around Ontario, and reports that the last 8 years living and working in Newmarket have been very enjoyable.  Wayne feels that Newmarket provides a quality of life that is often found in smaller towns while providing all the amenities that are offered in larger cities.

Working for a company that is community focussed has encouraged Wayne to be active and involved in the town.  This involvement includes volunteer work with 7th Newmarket Scouts, Newmarket Soccer Club as a coach and as a member of the Board of Governors, Chair of the York North Easter Seals, member of the York Curling Club and a volunteer in his children’s schools.

Wayne’s experience with RBC has allowed him to meet people from all walks of life and work with a great variety of people and business owners. He especially enjoys working with people to help them achieve their financial goals.  Working in a large company has demonstrated the value of having an extensive team of specialists who provide support and advice to ensure success while protecting all the stakeholders.  Wayne has recognized that these types of supports, while vital to overall success, are often not readily available to smaller companies and sole proprietors.  Wayne is proud to be the 1st Vice Chair of the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce because he believes it provides an excellent venue to provide support and access to supports for businesses and business owners.
